Now with MIPS, the Lazer Blade MIPS helmet is value-packed & protective
The Lazer Blade is dripping with the same style & class of Lazer's top end Z1 helmet & combines great looks with high performance. Now with Multi-directional Impact Protection System (MIPS), the Blade offers even more protection & its narrow shape combined with the Advanced Rollsys retention system provides an excellent fit & great adjustability. It has 22 vents to keep you cool & the weight is kept down to make sure you can fly down the road in comfort.

Multi-directional Impact Protection System (MIPS) - A revolutionary technology, providing protection with respect to angled impacts.
MIPS is a patented protection system & comes from years of studying the human brain. The brain is surrounded by cerebrospinal fluid that protects it by allowing it to slide when exposed to an angled impact. Mimicking the cerebrospinal fluid, MIPS creates a sliding layer between the helmet & the head. This reduces the rotational force otherwise transmitted to the brain. The combination of the brainÕs own protection & MIPS provides better protection from angled impacts. MIPS can be utilized in any helmet & does not interfere or take away from any other technical features, safety aspects, comfort or design.
MIPS was developed by some of the worldÕs leading researchers in biomechanics & neuroscience at the Royal Institute of Technology (KTH) & the Karolinska Institute in Sweden. The results is helmets offering enhanced safety & protection from rotational forces to the brain
Conventional helmet testing is done by dropping them vertically onto a flat surface. MIPS is designed for reality, reflecting how most accidents occur, with angled impacts to the head. By using the low friction layer, MIPS can absorb more of the energy from an angled blow to the head.
Lazer & MIPS have been partners since 2013 & colaborated on the first ever inmolded helmet that featured the technology, the Lazer P'Nut MIPS helmet. Since then the MIPS system has been available throughout the Lazer range.
Look for the yellow MIPS logo on the helmets to ensure that you are wearing a helmet with MIPS technology!
